The role:
We are looking to hire a Sales Manager who will play a critical role in driving our business growth. This role requires a professional with the expertise to analyse market trends, understand customer demographics, and create targeted sales strategies that are tailored to the unique dynamics of their ethnic grocery retail sector.
The Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Liaises with store owners, department managers, and suppliers to determine the range of grocery products and ethnic goods to be stocked, ensuring alignment with customer demand and seasonal trends.
- Assists in developing sales plans and setting achievable weekly, monthly, and seasonal sales targets based on market trends and store goals.
- Create and implement sales plans tailored to the target ethnic community.
- Regularly interacts with shoppers to understand their preferences, cultural needs, and expectations regarding product variety, packaging, and pricing.
- Carries out in-store surveys and monitors customer purchasing patterns to evaluate product performance, identify gaps in inventory, and adapt the product mix.
- Compiles and interprets daily and weekly sales figures to track performance, identify high and low selling products, and evaluate the success of promotions or marketing efforts.
- Oversees customer accounts, manages loyalty programs, and resolves issues to maintain positive customer relationships.
- Assists in hiring and training junior sales associates with a focus on product knowledge, customer service, and cultural sensitivity.
- Stays informed on local competitor pricing, promotions, and new product introductions to ensure the store remains competitive and relevant to its customer base.
